Our providers are committed to staying at the forefront of the latest advancements in skin care to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
Todd Wilkinson, MD
Todd Wilkinson, MD earned his undergraduate degree from Campbell University in North Carolina and his medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed an internship at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida and a dermatology residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Dr. Wilkinson has received numerous academic honors throughout his undergraduate and medical studies. He has research experience at Duke University where he worked with the Divers Alert Network and NASA. He has published in dermatology journals and lectured at the American Academy of Dermatology’s national meeting
He completed a dermatology fellowship in Paris, France and Geneva, Switzerland where he studied the European perspective on various skin conditions. Dr. Wilkinson and his wife enjoyed orienteering, trail running, biking and adventure racing. Now, they enjoy their two, active boys. Dr. Wilkinson’s wife is a native French-speaker from Geneva, Switzerland.
DANIEL ZIVONY, MD
Daniel Zivony, MD received his undergraduate degree at Emory University and his medical degree at Ohio State University. This was followed by his dermatology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed a fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of Colorado and a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic surgery at the Center for Surgical Dermatology in Columbus, Ohio. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery, and the American Board of Dermatopathology.
Dr. Zivony taught and practiced dermatology as a full-time faculty member at Emory university from 1998 to 2001. He’s widely published in medical journals and textbooks. Dr. Zivony has lectured extensively in the Asheville area. He has been interviewed on several occasions by local and national publications. Dr. Zivony moved to Asheville in 2003 and founded Advanced Dermatology and Skin Surgery in a cramped office on Asheville’s south slope. Since that time, Advanced Dermatology and Skin Surgery has grown to become a regional center for excellence in dermatology, skin cancer treatment, and vein disorders.
Dr. Zivony enjoys trail running, skiing, photography and practices taekwondo.
Elise Rackoff, MD
Elise Rackoff, MD grew up in southwestern Virginia and received both her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Virginia. She then completed her internship and dermatology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, serving as Chief Resident during her final year. Following completion of her training, she worked in a multi-specialty practice in the Tampa Bay area.
Dr. Rackoff has published articles in numerous dermatologic and surgical journals and has lectured on both the local and national level. She is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and the American Academy of Dermatology. She is a member of the North Carolina Dermatology Association.
Dr. Rackoff and her husband, who is a gastroenterologist practicing in Hendersonville, currently have one daughter and a son. She enjoys cooking, running, hiking, and traveling with her family.
Julie Swick, MD
Dr. Swick is a native of Florence, SC and received her undergraduate degree in Science Education from Clemson University. She graduated Summa cum Laude and with departmental honors. Following Clemson University, Dr. Swick studied at the Medical University of South Carolina gaining her Medical Degree with honors. She then continued at MUSC completing an Internal Medicine internship, Dermatology residency, and Dermatopathology Fellowship. Dr. Swick served as Chief Resident during her final year of residency.
She has published articles in several dermatologic journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and authored presentations at regional dermatology and dermatopathology meetings. Her practice currently focuses on dermatopathology.
Dr. Swick enjoys spending time with her husband and sons, singing, Bible study, and being outdoors.
Alexandra Bourgeois, MD, FAAD
Alexandra Bourgeois, M.D., grew up on a bayou in south Louisiana and earned her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University, graduating summa cum laude. She received her medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed her internship in Danville, Pennsylvania, at Geisinger Medical Center before returning to New Orleans for her Dermatology residency where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Bourgeois has authored articles in national dermatologic journals and has given several presentations at regional dermatology meetings. She is Board Certified in Dermatology, a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and North Carolina Dermatology Association.
Dr. Bourgeois sees patients of all ages and has interests in medical, pediatric, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She has extensive training in various dermatologic conditions including eczema, psoriasis, acne, warts, moles, rashes, and skin cancer.
She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends, and exploring her new home with her dog, Mabel.
Jeffrey Aldridge, MD
Rounding out our amazing new team at the Aesthetic Dermatology Center is Dr. Jeffrey Aldridge, Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon. Dr. Aldridge received his undergraduate degree from Macalester College in St. Paul Minnesota and his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School. Residencies in general surgery and plastic surgery followed at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Otolaryngology residency and a PhD were completed at the University of Minnesota.
Before relocating to Asheville, Dr. Aldridge practiced the full range of reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery in private practice in St. Paul, Minnesota. His areas of special interest include postmastectomy breast reconstruction, head and neck reconstruction following cancer surgery, facial aesthetic procedures and body contouring. He has also volunteered extensively in Guatemala and Peru performing cleft lip and palate repairs in patients of all ages.
Thrilled to be living in Asheville’s mild climate, Dr. Aldridge finds joy in spending time with family, his dachshunds, caring for his bonsai collection, and playing the piano.
Jessika Davis, MD
Jessika Davis, MD is a board-certified general dermatologist who enjoys practicing medical and surgical dermatology. She completed her undergraduate studies at Tennessee Technological University before going on to receive her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she earned multiple awards for academic achievement and clinical excellence. During her medical school career, she spent time volunteering at the student run free health clinic for the underserved, participated in mission trips in Central America, and worked in a dermatology research lab. She completed her internal medicine internship at the University of Illinois at Chicago and dermatology residency training at the Cook County Hospital of Chicago, IL. During this time, she worked with excellent faculty and mentors to treat a broad range of dermatologic conditions in patients of all ages from a variety of backgrounds. She also gave presentations about different skin disorders at local and national meetings.
Following completion of her training, Dr. Davis worked in the suburbs of both Chicago and Nashville. Having grown up in the Appalachians of northeast Tennessee, she and her husband, who is an orthopedic surgeon, are now excited to be back in the Blue Ridge Mountains to serve the people of Asheville and surrounding communities. They enjoy hanging out with family and friends and spending time outdoors.
Michael Anderson, MD
Michael Anderson, MD is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship trained, board-certified Mohs Micrographic Surgeon. Dr. Anderson grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then completed a master’s degree at the University of South Florida prior to attending medical school at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Continuing with his North Carolina ties, he completed an internship in internal medicine at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte and then completed residency training in dermatology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following residency, Dr. Anderson moved to Santa Monica, California, where he spent a year doing clinical research followed by a year of fellowship training in micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology (Mohs Micrographic Surgery), both with Dr. Richard Bennett.
During his time in medical school, Dr. Anderson was privileged to be elected to Alpha Omega Alpha and to serve as his class president. He then served as chief resident his final year of Dermatology training. He has authored numerous peer reviewed journal publications and continues to be active in dermatologic surgery research. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
In addition to his love for dermatology, Dr. Anderson enjoys exploring the outdoors with his wife, who is a Nurse Practitioner, and their wonderful dog. His hobbies include hiking, cycling, trail running, and skiing.
Adriane Barlow, PA-C, MPAS, DSDPA
Adriane Barlow joined Advanced Dermatology and Skin Surgery in January of 2014.
Adriane is a Board Certified Physician Assistant through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. She has completed additional coursework in dermatology and passed an examination to earn Diplomate status with the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA). Diplomates are a select group of physician assistants nationwide and Advanced Dermatology is pleased with her accomplishment.
She is a native of the Asheville area, and received her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in chemistry from Brevard College, where she graduated Suma Cum Laude. She then received her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Florida.
After her graduation, Adriane worked in Pediatric Interventional Radiology and outpatient pediatrics for six years. She decided to return home to Asheville in 2013.
In her free time, Adriane and her husband enjoy swimming, hiking, and spending time with family.
Christopher Lyon, PA-C, MPAS, DSDPA
Christopher Lyon, MPA, PA-C, DSDPA received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina. He completed his physician assistant education at Eastern Virginia Medical School, in Norfolk, Virginia and graduated with a Master’s of Physician Assistant degree in 2010.
Upon graduation, Christopher moved to Asheville and has practiced in the fields of orthopedics and emergency medicine. He began his career in dermatology when he joined Advanced Dermatology and Skin Surgery in January 2015.
Christopher is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants. He has completed additional coursework in dermatology and passed an examination to earn Diplomate status with the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA).Diplomates are a select group of physician assistants nationwide.
When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys camping, fly-fishing, and cycling.
Justin Hogan, PA-C
Justin Hogan, PA-C, graduated from Auburn University Montgomery, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then went on to graduate from Yale School of Medicine with a Master of Medical Science, Physician Assistant studies in 2013.
He is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Justin is also a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Justin has been practicing dermatology in Western North Carolina, as well as Oregon, since 2015. He joined Advanced Dermatology and Skin Surgery in 2023.
When not taking care of patients, Justin enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with his wife and son.
Lindsey Hardin, PA-C
Lindsey Hardin completed her Physician Assistant training through East Carolina University and obtained a Doctor of Medical Sciences with a concentration in Advanced Professional Practice degree through the University of Lynchburg, Virginia. Lindsey graduated Summa Cum Laude from Appalachian State University with an undergraduate degree in Pre-Professional Biology.
Following her education, Lindsey provided more than thirteen years of patient care to the people of western NC through family medicine and convenient care services. Lindsey joined Advanced Dermatology and Skin Surgery in January 2024.
Lindsey currently lives in Henderson County with her husband and two children and enjoys traveling with her family.
Rebecca Dawson, PA-C
Rebecca Dawson, PA-C, joined Advanced Dermatology and Skin Surgery in April of 2024. Rebecca received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s in Exercise Science from Appalachian State University. She then received her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Wake Forest University. She has five years of experience in dermatology and four years of experience in oculofacial plastic surgery.
Rebecca is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
In her free time, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, rock climbing and cycling.
