Please continue for our current modified operations in regards to COVID-19.
Advanced Dermatology and Skin Surgery is open to serve patients for all of their skin needs. The providers offer both telemedicine and in-person visits for different skin issues, including suspicious skin lesions, skin cancer, rashes (eczema, psoriasis, poison ivy), acne and skin infections. Our staff is dedicated to assist on which type of encounter, telemedicine versus in-person visit, is appropriate to better meet the needs of our patients.
During this difficult time, it is our first priority to provide excellent dermatologic care in a safe, clean environment for the health and well-being of our patients and staff. We remain open and follow the current guidelines put forth by the Federal Government entitled, “Recommendations to Re-Open Health Care Systems in Areas of Low Incidence of COVID-19” https://www.cms.gov/ files/document/covid- flexibility-reopen-essential- non-covid-services.pdf, by the following points:
- All staff will wear personal protective equipment and maintain social distancing when appropriate.
- Maintaining social distancing protocols for patients in the waiting rooms.
- Routine screening of staff and patients for symptoms of COVID-19, including temperature checks.
- Strict cleaning protocol and “touch free” zones for patients to minimize exposure.
- Facilitating telemedicine appointments when possible to minimize the number of patients at the office daily.
It is important that we continue to serve the needs of our patients during this time, to reduce urgent skin care visits in the hospital setting, treat higher risk skin cancers and other acute skin ailments in a safe, outpatient environment during this pandemic.
Please call our office to schedule an appointment or for any questions that we can better assist you with during this unprecedented time.
Click here for more information regarding Elise Rackoff, MD Leave of Absence
As you may or may not be aware, Dr. Rackoff chose to take a personal leave of absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She has a large family with young children and a husband, who is a doctor that works inside the walls of the hospital each day. In light of the existing conditions, she has chosen to extend her leave to October 2020.
In an effort to stop continuously rescheduling appointments, we will contact you when Dr. Rackoff is back in the office, caring for patients.
- If you want to wait until her return to be seen, that is ok.
- If you currently need to be seen for your routine skin check, any current issues, existing issues, or medication refills, please call our office at (828) 274-4880. Our providers are here for your continued care.
- If you would like to transfer your care to one of the other providers in our practice, please call (828) 274-4880.
Dr. Rackoff cares greatly for her patients and realizes her leave of absence inconvenienced many. She is working hard to care for her family but looks forward to taking care of you again soon.
