Depending on the procedure, absorbable stitches may have been placed. This means that you will not have to return to the office for stitches to be removed, which is an added convenience for most of our patients. In other situations, stitches will have to be removed. This usually happens within a week or two after surgery.
You may be asked to return in 4 to 6 weeks for a follow-up appointment. Regardless of whether or not this is scheduled at the time of the surgery, please know that we will be happy to visit with you or answer questions you may have about your surgery. If you would like to come in for any reason, please call and we will schedule a follow-up appointment with you. Also, we can answer questions over the phone. Furthermore, we have a secure email address to which you can send questions and pictures of your surgery site.
